Have you ever wondered about the meaning of the word “magic”? When you were a child, did you imagine that you ever wanted to go to a magic place, where time seems to stop?
Would you ever like to be in such a wonderful land? If so, then you should definitely see the Region of Murcia in the southeast of Spain.
What we recommend?
Salto del Usero – a magic corner, seems to be from another world. Near Bullas, about 60 km from Murcia, there is a beautiful natural reserve, with a lake full of water, located between the sandstone rocks and travertines. From the top it is not very visible, but in the heart of the place is the pool with the great waterfall. The water, in shades of blue and green, on the bottom of the rocks and in the rays of the sun crossing the walls of the rocks, gives the impression of being a land inhabited by elves and fairies.
This place is very visited by tourists throughout the year. In summer there are many bathers and there is no lack of daredevils, who jump into the water from a height of 5 to 7 meters.
How to get:
You should look for a connection with Bullas, from there you can walk from the Camping area on foot. A pleasant summer walk to your destination takes about 20 minutes. Bullas can be reached by motorway RM15 and then head towards Camping La Rafa. From the campsite, the trail heads south to the reserve. La Puerta – another magical place, which can not be resisted, is near Moratalla. If you are
a lover of rivers, waterfalls and swimming, this place is for you. Have you ever seen a bright green river flowing between the giant rocks, looking for its way, a dam and a picturesque forest? Many people are associating this part of Spain with palm trees, but I’m not sure if you know, that this area is dominated by the juniper forest (sabina albar). We invite you to an unforgettable trip to the La Puerta campsite, near Moratalla, surrounded by the Alhárabe river.
Without a doubt, it will be a pleasure to bathe in the crystal clear waters of the river, admiring waterfalls and huge rocks from afar. The bathing places are specially separated and the water in them is calm and safe, and in other parts their recesses make aquatic areas with depth and dangerous. Some tourists dare to jump into a pond just before the river’s edge. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes to walk along the riverbank and others to bathe in the river with the rocky bottom. Camping is an interesting idea to spend an afternoon or a few days there. The campsite is surrounded by the river and the forest. The plots are well marked with stones, the infrastructure is complete; there is electricity, clean toilets and a store. A special advantage is the pool, the restaurant and a mini rope park for children.
How to get:
The Moratalla campsite is 85 km from Murcia. It can be reached by car or bus. You can park in the free zone outside the campsite or use the parking lot. The most comfortable access to Moratalla is from Caravaca de la Cruz or from Calasparra. To get to the campsite, head north along the La Puerta road.
